What is Java?

Java is a programming language that software developers use to create games and applications. It also exists as a plugin and allows users to run various apps in their web browsers. However, Java is not a requirement for private computers, and many computer users end up uninstalling it from the PC. In this article, we will strive to elaborate on how to uninstall Java on a PC.

Why Users Might Consider Uninstalling Java on A PC

A user might decide to uninstall Java due to the following reasons:

Security vulnerability: Recent security vulnerabilities and exploits have been discovered in Java due to its immense popularity. It has become a target of malicious code developers and hackers. Because of these security holes and Oracle (owner of Java) not rushing to fix them, it has led to many users uninstalling the software.

Updating to a newer version: Newer Java versions have new features, packages, and classes, as well as fixes for issues in earlier versions. Unfortunately, Java doesn’t uninstall your earlier installed versions while upgrading. This not only hinders essential functions from working but also leaves you open to security leaks. Hence, you need to uninstall any previous Java before installing a newer version. Besides, uninstalling older versions ensures that your Java applications run with the latest performance and security improvements.

Use Uninstall Java tool

Download the Special Uninstall Tool, this tool is a great tool that I personally use and it is safe for PC only.  Now if you have a Mac computer please do not use this tool.  The reason you may want to use the tool it makes it easy to uninstall the whole program off of your computer.  When you uninstall programs manually off of your computer most times it will leave crumbs of the program on your computer.  Crumbs will slow down your computer and in some cases, it will totally shut down your computer make the computer worthless.  By using the Special Uninstaller the tool will get rid of the whole program and it will look for crumbs and get rid of them too.

Alternatively, you can press Windows Icon and R on the keyboard, open run, and key in cmd. Your PC should return an error message of could not find the files for the given pattern(s).

What if My PC requires Java to run?

It is perfectly safe to uninstall Java from your PC. But, keep in mind that some content on websites, including games and other applications or other software that requires Java, will stop working once you uninstall it. Hence, for anyone who uses websites or programs that use Java and wants to protect their PC from the aforementioned threats, it is recommended that you disable Java. Disabling Java enables you to keep it installed while preventing it from running in your computer’s browser.

Disabling Java

Chrome users:

Will Uninstalling or Disabling Java Affect JavaScript?

While there are programming languages, Java isn’t closely related to JavaScript. Java is independent and more complex and poses more security risks, whereas JavaScript is mainly used within HTML to make your web pages more interactive.

In conclusion, many web browser add-ons can often be an overlooked area of insecurity on your PC. Hence, it’s always a wise idea to clean your PC and remove unnecessary and unused programs. Follow the above steps to uninstall Java on your PC successfully.  It is highly encouraged to use the Special Uninstall Tool!!!!
